Professional, Performers, Athletes

When Performers or Athletes are injured in anyway (physically, emotionally, mentally), that injury can cause performance blocks.  This often happens in two ways, the sustained injury was downloaded into your response system that is wired to protect you, so any similar future performances will trigger the brain and body to go into a protective response mode. This often hinders the individual's performance.  Or any present injury sustained can trigger old memories/trauma(s) held in the body to resurface. This in turn creates performance blocks, or the “yips” as explained by Dr. David Grand. Performance blocks or “yips” refer to knowing what you need to do, but when it comes time to do it, you struggle or can’t follow through. As your therapist, I do not have to be an expert in your sport or profession to help you overcome performance blocks or increase your desired outcome.

As your therapist, I will assist you with unblocking the core issues that are preventing you from reaching ultimate performance with the use of Brainspotting and other somatic therapies. Brainspotting helps your brain and body tap into where the past issues are stored and harness your brain and body’s natural ability to heal itself.

For other Professionals brainspotting therapy helps to unblock internal core thoughts/beliefs that may be hindering their ability to stay motivated, do public speaking, excel in their profession, increase self-esteem and/or other barriers preventing them from being successful. All these issues are believed to be in the subcortical part of the brain, which is why talk therapy often limits the outcome professionals are seeking.
